What Causes Painful Lumps On The Nose Upon Using Arnica?

A dermatologist gave me arnica to reduce swelling. It not only did not reduce the swelling, it caused bumps to appear on my nose and the skin is stripped on either side of the bumps. The nose and throat are structurally intact according to several ENT doctors, but the pain under the skin shooting up into my head and down my face is agonizing. It has only gotten worse in 7 weeks and all they do at the ER is give me a toridol shot that lasts for about 1/2 hour. How do I regenerate the skin on my nose and eliminate the pain under it? Will my skin be restored? My email address is: YYYY@YYYY . Thank you for whatever answer you can provide.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Development of bumps on nose accompanied by stripping of skin on nose can be due to allergy to arnica. I suggest you to stop the use of arnica and use an anti-histaminic ointment to control the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
