What Causes Painful Lump Under Skin In Ankle After Getting Sprained?

i have a hard lump under my skin on the inside of my anlke. i sprained it about 2 months ago but i have had problems in the past. i have read about tissue scar formed around the ligament and that you can just massage away to break it up but i dont think this will work. There does not seem to be any swelling anymore just a lump and still some pain.

Hi,Dear I studied your query in all it details and I understood your concerns.
Cause -
The lump under skin on inside of your ankle -seems to be synovitis,mostly due to the old problems you had in the ankle.I would advise to have Xray ankle and consult ER Ortho-Surgeon.
