What Causes Painful Lump On The Tongue Along With Red Lumps At The Bottom?

Hi, I have a pea sized lump inside my tongue. It's more on the left side and closer to the front. I was only aware of it today. it is painful, it hurts when I move my tongue and it hurts if I squeeze it. You can't really see it but on the bottom of my tongue there are small red bumps but that could be because I've been irritating it more.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the most common cause of painful bump over the tongue and small red painful bumps under the tongue are most commonly Apthous Ulcers or Canker Sores and can be due to a few common conditions like Nutritional deficiency of Iron, Vitamin B12 and folic acid, stress, taking more of Citrus and sour foods, allergic reaction to any medication or food etc..

Nothing to worry, you can take a Multivitamin tablet daily for 15 days.
Apply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the ulcers for pain relief..
Avoid spicy as well as sour foods.
You can take Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.
Soda-bicarb gargles can help..

The ulcers will resolve in a week or even less but in case if there seems no improvement then you can consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
