What Causes Painful Lump In The Clitoris?

I had some pain in my clit area for a few days and when I finally checked it out I had a lump that was fairly large in size and looked like it had yellow pus in it. After taking a hot shower when I woke up the next day, I had no more pain and the lump was a lot smaller but it is pretty red. It still keeps getting smaller very slowly and it doesn t hurt anymore but I m still wondering if I should go to the doctor?
