Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. S. Samanta's Response
Hi! thanks for writing to us and sharing your health problem!
Well, this kind of painful large lump on the back of knee causing numb foot is not uncommon in our clinic and could not be cancerous anyways; moreover, I would like to suggest following possibilities in your case:
3. synovial inflammation, herniation or arthritis 5% possibility
Therefore, there is nothing to worry in your case but you must see an orthopedic surgeon for a clinical examination and possibly a simple needle biopsy test to pinpoint the diagnosis;
regards!
