What Causes Painful Leg And Foot Muscles After Having Methotrexate?
I've been on 7 mg of methotrexate now for 4 mos. For the past month I've been experiencing painful foot and leg muscles. I sometimes feel like I have the flu with body aches. Is this fairly common and will it ease up? I am a 56 yr old white female that was diagnosed with pulmonary sarcoidosis almost 2 yrs ago.

Since Methotrexate functions by suppressing B cells (which help fighting infections).
This medicine can cause decreased blood white cells,causing increased chances of bacterial or viral infection (flu and bodyache).Other side effects can be decreased platelates cells,abnormal liver function tests,hair loss ,acne ,itching and skin rashes. If some side effects bothers you much, you should adjust the dose or change the medicine after discussing with your doctor.
