What Causes Painful Itchy Blisters On The Back Of The Child?
my granddaughter whom is 11 has had some boils appear on her back..she has been exposed to staph infection recently so i will take her to doctor on Monday...Is there anything i can do til then? Keep it covered? any type of medicine or cream over the counter til then? She says they hurt and are itchy.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have symptoms of painful itchy blisters on the back which seems to be due to infection of hair follicles leading to folliculitis. Avoid touching or pricking blisters. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to Apply little pressure on that area with cotton dipped in warm water to ooze out the pus properly. Apply betadine over area and clean that area properly with antimicrobial agent. Use of corticosteroid ointment is helpful. Take antibiotics orally to prevent further infection. Use calamine lotion on that to resolve itchiness .Your symptoms will start resolving in 3-5 days. If it keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once to find out any hidden cause for your symptoms.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
