What Causes Painful Hard Red Lump Near The Small Toe?

hello doctor, i currently have been diagnosed with gout in my foot, on the small toe area. i have started to manage that but know i have a hard red lump that has formed about 2cm below the end of the small toe towards the ankle. it hurts when touched but doesn t feel like its there when i havnt got a shoe or sock on. thanks james

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You may have gouty arthritis with lump formation. Lump is due to gouuty deposits. You should go for excision biopsy of that lump. Also check your serum uric acid level. You should take low protein diet. Drug like allopurinol may be taken for gout. It will help to decrease uric acid level. Ibuprofen like drug is useful for symptomatic releif. Consult your doctor and take treatment accordingly.
