What Causes Painful Bumps On Knees And Neck When Suffering From Molluscum Contagiosum?
Hi There, my daughter of 4 has been diagnoses with molluscum contagiosum. I have read articles which say the bumps are non painful. However my daughter is complaining of her bumps being painful. They are between her thighs, behind one knee, on on her neck. Please advise about hers being painful.
Normally bumps from molluscum contagious are not tender. On the other hand, f they are in the areas of friction, as it happens in her case, in between thigs or on the knees, the bumps may be irritated and may be tender.
You can use local cold compresses to quiet down the local irritation and if the lesions are more tender or they get red and inflamed, it is best to have her checked.
I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
