What Causes Painful Bump Between The Knuckles?

I sliced the knuckle on my middle finger. I put a bandaid on it and went to a softball tryout for my daughter. While there I noticed I had what appeared to be a bee sting or bug bite on the same finger in between the two knuckles. It is now a painful hard bump and the entire top of the finger has become swollen and a deep red color. Not sure if it is an infection or if it is an allergic reaction to a bite of some kind.

It could be either one of those. The only way to be sure is to have it looked at by a doctor. If an infection is present, you will probably need to have antibiotics prescribed. Or possibly the bump was not a bug bite but something related to the cut on the knuckle. Tendons in the fingers are not very deep so it's possible the cut injured one. I suggest you get it looked at promptly.
