Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been doing housework and all of a sudden I had a pain in my right wrist....I looked and I have a bulging vein about 1 1/2 inches long and blueish in colour. It is painful although within 20 minutes not as painful as when I first noticed it. I did not rub or bang my wrist against anything. I am 66 years old. Did have a concusion in middle of February. Are bulging veins common as I have never experienced this before.
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your experience with bulging of veins on the wrist with associated pain I am suggesting that you have developed a thrombophlebitis
In view of this please do a peripheral angiography to rule out the above condition
Meanwhile please see a vascular surgeon will the result and for further expect assessment and adequate drug prescription
Moreover please take some analgesic pending your appointment
I hope this helps Regards
