What Causes Painful And Is Swelling In Tongue?

I have this piece of my tongue on the bottom hanging off. It s painful and is swelling, its shaped a little like the pieces from the inside of the grapefruit (those little pouches of juice/pulp). Does anyone know what it is? Two more are starting closer to the tip of my tongue.

helloo..read thru ur query..accordingly i feel that it can be due to constant irritation of the toothwith the tooth or can be due to trauma...in my opinion i suggest u to see for any irritation near that area like sharp tooth etc...i suggest u to go to an oral surgeon and based on the clinical situation and presentation get it treated...nothing to worry in this...it can be just be removed by a small surgical procedure(my opinion is based on the symptoms told by u treatment plan may change based on the clinical presentation)be cool and get it done...hope ur benefitted something from this reply..have a healthy day!!!
