What Causes Pain While Moving Arm After A Tdap Vaccination?

I had a Tdap booster on Sunday. I still have soreness in that arm that is affecting my daily activities. The pain of lifting and moving my arm brings tears to my eyes. I ve had Td boosters in the past and have never had this prolonged or severe discomfort. What is going on? I m starting to get worried.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to HCM.
Thank You for your query.
I can completely understand your concern.

Normally,Td vaccines have the side effects of causing mild pain, soreness, redness in the arm where the shot was given.

Only in few people the side effects are seen intense, like severe pain or swelling of the arm where the shot was given, where they cannot perform their daily activities. This is where you require medical attention.

If i were your doctor,i would treat you with a painkiller, for 2-3 days, and ask you to keep cold compression over the site, where the shot was given.

If the problem still persists, and you continue with the same inability of performing daily activities,I recommend you to consult your GP,about the issue,so that he can closely examine the affected arm,and treat it accordingly.

Thank You
Please HIt a THANKS,if this helped you with your query.
