Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
hello norma, welcome to health care magic.

the most likely cause of your pain is muscle spasm due to coughing. sometimes due to coughing, our intercoastal muscles(chest muscles) go into spasm.
i would advice you to take a pain killer like diclofenac with pantoprazole and also a muscle relaxant like flexon mr.
ideally it should resolve in 4 5 days, if it persists visit a nearby doctor and get a chest xray done.
pneumonia symptoms are much worse, u will get fever, fatigue, anorexia, cough with sputum etc.
pls visit a doctor if u are experiencing these symptoms
hope this solves your query.
thank you
