What Causes Pain Upon Lifting The Leg After A Hip Replacement Surgery?

Three and a half years ago I had a total hip replacement. Since then, I have continued to feel minor pain/discomfort when lifting my right leg to climb into a large vehicle for example. Mentioned it to my surgeon 2-1:2 years ago who indicated I had a calcium deposit in the groin area that was likely causing the discomfort. While it improved over time with exercise, some tenderness has continued in that area and I recently noticed very mild pain there when lying on my back in bed. Then, this afternoon while sitting on the sofa it seemed to get worse and it is uncomfortable to walk. I can now feel a hard lump in the fold between my lower abdomen and upper thigh. It is tender when pressure is applied. I am reluctant to self diagnose but am travelling abroad and would like to be able to zero in on likely causes as groin pain can be the result of so many different issues.

Hi Sir,
Welcome to Health Care Magic,

I can certainly understand your concern about your pain and the hard lump in the groin area, there is a possibility that lump could be enlarged lymph nodes, or inguinal hernia, or any infection . it could be probably the sequele of some infection after the surgery

i can suggest get an physical examination done , to know whether it is a lump or lymphnode, so its better to consult your doctor

please post your further questions if any
thank you
