What Causes Pain Under The Lower Ribs On The Left Side?

I have some mild pain under my lower ribs on the left side. I can t feel anything and I don t really notice it unless I breathe in deep or have to sneeze. When I go to sneeze, my body stops me and I am a person who lets out a good sneeze. It is odd.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Lower chest pain when you take a deep breath or when you sneeze can be due to muscles. Generally, this is not a dangerous condition and should fade on its own in a couple of weeks.

If you are not better in a couple of weeks or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor and have a thorough examination.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
