What Causes Pain Under The Left Arm And Wheezing Despite Taking Advil?

Weasing on exhalation, Pain under my lleft arm,when coughing or lifting my arm over my head,concerned it might be pneumonia.Began as a pain under my left arm on Thursday September 29th today besides the exhalation weasing, there is some nasal discharge.Pain like the flu - muscle aches, but have had very little exposure to any populations of people. I have been taking Advil 2 or 3 200mg every six hours. Start low and if more pain control is neede I take 3 advil. I also have complications such as MS .Thinking I should go to the doctor tomorrow , unless an ER would be indicated. Feeling rather lousy.

Hi,

The possibility of infection apart from breathing trouble. probably an attack of bronchitis, may not necessarily bee pneumonia.

The pain you refer to seems to be muscular (stress of cough & breathing difficulty). The pneumonic pain is exaggerated by breathing movements rather than hand movements.

You should see your doctor soon &start with antibiotics &bronchodialaters as per need. Only Advil will not help.
