Hello, my tounge has been hurting the whole day. Like If i have some spicy food, it was really painful. And now when I looked into the mirror, i looked at my veins in the back of my tounge and they are very dark almost black compared to my sisters. Should I be worried?
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain it seems that you have inflammation of the tongue leading to Apthous Stomatitis and can occur due to a number of causes like deficiency of iron and folic acid, stress, acid reflux, diabetes, physical injury, oral infections etc. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now you can gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, take multivitamin supplements, do warm saline gargles, suck on ice pops and drink plenty of cool water.. Avoid hot and spicy food..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
