Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, My name is Renee and I have a question about impacted sinuses. First let me say that I have has sinus/ear infections since 2012. I just got a new insurance policy and I have to find a new doctor. I went to the ER Friday night in terrible pain and I thought it was my ear. All the pain is on my right side of my head. The ER doc said that I ave impacted sinuses and fluids on the gland behind that ear. I have now been on Augmenten, pain meds and benedryl since Friday and I am still in just as much pain. Is there anything else I can do to get better? It feels like someone is stabbing my temple and above my ear with an ice pick. Please help!!!
You need to continue the Antibiotics, Augmentin 625 twice daily for five as mentioned by your treating physician.
If you would have been my patient I would like to recommend you NSAID like ibuprofen pain killer too. In case your pain is throbing in nature and you feel pulsating pain, you may be having migraine.
For that you need to visit a general physician for further details.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Muzaffer Hussain Parray , Dentist
