Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Today I was reaching up and twisting and going up and down 3 stairs to the garage and now with my body at rest I m feeling a strain type pain in the left side of my abdomen. I m wondering if it could be from a hernia. In May I went through some severe left side pain that started approx. waistline high and moved around to my back kidney area and back around to front of my abdomen. Two trips to the ER and several CT scans did not show up anything.
Hello and welcome to Ask a doctor service. I have read through your question and here is my opinion. There are a number of reasons that can cause pain in left abdominal region including renal stones, gastric ulcer etc. But they should have been diagnosed on a CT scan. Hernia can also be a cause of dragging pain which increases on lifting weights and exertion. I would advise you to get yourself checked by a surgeon who will do a clinical examination to rule out Hernia. I hope that answers your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you good health.
