What Causes Pain On The Balls Of The Feet?

I AM WRITING THIS FOR A FRIEND, AS HE HAS BEEN COMPLAINING OF PAIN ON THE BALL OF HIS FOOT. HE HAS TRIED GEL INSERTS AND DIFFERENT TYPES OF SHOES BUT IT TRIGGERS EVERY OTHER DAY AND HE CONTINUES JUST TAKING PAIN MEDS FOR THIS. DOES HE NEED TO SEE A DOCTOR OR PODIATRIST?

Your friend should visit a physician to rule out what is the cause of this pain.
May be some small joint of feet problem to exclude by xray , blood test.
