What Causes Pain On Either Sides Of Abdomen?

Hi I have pains in my right & left sides of my abdomen. I am 59 but very active until I went to Mexico 3 yrs. ago. Drs. have checked me out....& are giving me a metabolism slow down. I don t like the idea ...but the pains & diarrhea is less. Any ideas...? Thanks...Miss Terry.

Hi,
This type of pain may be due to spasm,appendicitis, bilateral kidney stones, pelvic inflammatory disease etc.
You should undergo routine blood investigations with x- ray abdomen and ultrasound abdomen first to make a diagnosis.Treatment will be based on underlying cause otherwise you can symptomatic treatment till that.
Consult gastroenterologist for further advise.
