What Causes Pain In Upper Left Quadrant Of Abdomen?

I have had pain in the upper left quadrant of my abdomen for 6months. I had and upper GI that showed Polyps. So I had and upper endosopy to have those polyps removed. The doctor said everything looked good. So I am at a loss as to why I am still having pain. My Gall bladder was removed in 97. The pain usually comes in after lunch time and lasts sometines throughout the evenings. Any ideas would be appreciated

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain in the upper left side of abdomen could be due to disease process in stomach, pancreas, pleura etc.
An ultrasound abdomen is required to required to look for any organ enlargement.
Pain appearing after having food suggests some problem of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT).
Gall bladder is unlikely to be associated with this pain because gall bladder is present on right side of abdomen.
A clinical assessment by a gastroenterologist is necessary.
Further investigations may be required to find out the cause of symptoms and thus management.

Thanks and take care
