What Causes Pain In Upper Left Arm At The Age Of 55?

Hello. I do have a concern. I am 55 and experiencing what is feels like to begin the aging process. I was diagnosed with menopause at 34. Began estrogen thearapy for approximatley 10 years. I developed osteopenia and osteoperoisis since then. That is just a bit of medical history. My concern now is I am experiencing a gradual ache in my upper left arm. I think it s muscular, or skeletal but i am thinking perhaps could it be clogged arteries? I do have to take a small dose of crestor 2.5 mg/daily. It s probably best I get a family doctor. ?

Hello,

You have a history of menopause long time back & have been taking crestor 2.5 mg/daily, a Rosuvastatin. You were also on estrogen therapy. Pain in the left arm may be skeletal or muscular, you can apply pain ointments, sprays (Volini) for relief. Gentle massage may be effective. However, pain in the left arm can also be indicative of developing CAD. Your risk of heart disease and stroke is higher after menopause. High triglyceride and cholesterol level, high blood pressure, and fat around the belly raise the risk for heart disease and stroke.

You should take a proper diet (such as a low cholesterol/low-fat diet), lifestyle changes like exercising, losing weight if overweight and stopping smoking or other addictions if any may help. However, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a cardiologist, get all investigations like lipid function tests, urinalysis, routine cardiac tests and imaging tests done to stay on the safer side. You any developing pathology is detected it will be treated much ahead of time.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
