Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a sore throat for almost a week. It doesn t hurt in the morning as much. The pain gets worse in the afternoon and radiates to my ears. I took Aleve last night and it completely took pain away but it is back today. I am a 57 yr old grandmother who has been around children that have been sick with sneezing, runny nose, fever and one was on an antibiotic for beginning of an ear infection. Could this be Strep Throat?
Hello sir, Good morning, I read your history... Yes there is connection among ear throat n oral cavity...so any problem in any of these site n we can feel symptoms other site also as these three site sharing common nerve supply at one stand... For e.g pain in molar teeth pain we feel in ear as auriculotemporal nerve... This is called rediating pain...problem is here but pain feels away from site... Now coming on symptoms runny nose sneezing fever So we can put d/d 1.) common cold, sinusitis, sinus infection 2.) ear infection euschechian tube blockage For that examination of ear oral cavity n nose is necessary N I am sure your doctor examine you properly n investigate properly n give drugs according to that...so keep faith... Second thing that you may also misunderstand about diagnosis... N any infection is treated by antibiotics n most of infection in e.n.t part are treated by some group of antibiotics like cephalosporin group floxacin grouo...so you get relief if your diagnosis is wrong but this possibility is nil... So I just suggest keep faith in your doctor...
