What Causes Pain In Thigh After Doing Squats?

While doing squats 7 days ago I heard a pop and felt pain in left thigh approximately 6 inches from knee and approximately 10 inches from groin. Pain is confined to a small rectangular patch about 4 inches in length and 3 inches wide. Pain seems to be most evident when doing deep squats or leftist leg while taking stairs. There is no bruising or discoloration and residue swelling. Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

Pain in the thigh has occurred due to muscle strain.Pain killers and muscle relaxants use can reduce the pain.

Hot fomentation can also reduce the discomfort.Avoid vigorous exercise for the next few days.

Popping sound can when gas build up in the joints and gets burst when the joint is moved. It occurs commonly in many people.Any arthritis of the joints should be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
