What Causes Pain In The Upper Arm?

My husband is having recurring pain in his right upper atm....between the elbow and shoulder. Feels like it is in his bone . He has a history of heart conditions and has had 4 different surgeries since 1995. He is 84 years old and is wondering if the pain could be heart related.

The typical referred heart pain radiates to the left arm.

Described pain might be due to various conditions. It's advised to undergo physical examination. Your doctor then might refer you to perform X ray to asses the bone condition, or further evaluation of the neck to exclude neurological cause of the pain.

Best wishes.
