What Causes Pain In The Thigh While Sleeping?

While I was sleeping, I was awakened by a pain (something like a cramp) but it appeared to be coming from the veins on the inside of my thigh, it wasn t a muscle cramp, it felt as if it was inside of my vein, and the pain was harsh to say the least, I tried to rub it, but the pain persisted for several minutes, then slowly went away, I thought it was a blood clot or something going on inside of my veins.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.

There are few possible causes and one of it is deep vein thrombosis which is common in obese people who sit or stand a lot during the day. You need to do doppler ultrasound to rule this out. Also, it may be sign of lack of minerals such as calcium, magnesium or pottasium so you should check these in your blood and take supplements if required.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
