What Causes Pain In The Sternum After Eating?

Good afternoon, Last Thursday I developed a pain in my sternum. It came on after eating. Drinking doesn t make the dull pain happen, just eating. I feel over-full, it s worse if I bend forward. It s like a toothache in my upper abdomen and goes away overnight. Then I feel okay until I eat again. I have taken Nexium for years, it doesn t feel like regerg, or acid....

pain in the level of sternum after eating could due to many .
this could be due to Heart burn.

heart burn could arise from the esophagus or the stomach.
it is from esophagus this could mean feeling pain when you are swallowing. a GERD will cause pain after eating because goes back in the esophagus and burns there. so you would feel the pain.

the other very common is gastric or duodenal ulcers. if you have got wounds in the stomach or the duodenum you will feel pain associated with eating.
for ulcers in the stomach the pain is worse with food intake. for ulcers in duodenum the pain is relieved by food intake.

the other thing especially if you feel pain when you lean forward could be irritation of the envelope covering the heart or pericarditis. this can follow a viral infection.

I would recommend you see your nearest doctor to pinpoint on what is bordering you.
