What Causes Pain In The Shoulder Radiating To The Arm?

I have left shoulder pain that is radiating down my arm and causing tingling. It is sore to the touch around my shoulder - right below the top on the back of my shoulder and the very top. It started out of the blue (?) about a two weeks ago with sore ness and seems to is getting worse with radiating pain into my hand. I have severe pain when I reach or extend especially upward or outward. The muscle seems to seize and there is searing pain that dissipates pretty quickly (1-2 min.) Ibuprofen or Naxopraxin don t seem to do much.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to nerve compression at the cervical spine level.

For further assessment, you may require MRI neck and nerve conduction studies after consultation.

You can take tablet acetaminophen for pain.

You may require tablet Pregabalin after consultation.

Do regular physical therapy. You may require multivitamin tablets after consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
