What Causes Pain In The Neck, Chest And Upper Back?

I am 38, female, no children. In the last few weeks my throat, the side of my neck (around throat), upper back, chest and under armpits are hurting. Yesterday the pressure on my chest was so heavy that I could hardly breathe. It s a little better today but still difficult to breathe in fully. I currently don t have insurance (husband changed job) so I m kind of relying on info from the web. When researching online I found that these could be problems with the lymph nodes. Could this be caused by allergies? Is there something I can do to bring the swelling down, if it is lymph nodes? Thank you so much for your answer!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

From your complaints i would not say it is an allergic reaction as they are not painful. It may be a inflammatory situation and you may try Ibuprofen. If pain persists you should see a physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
