What Causes Pain In The Muscles And Veins Of The Arms?

Hi I am 19 years old and I m having issues in my hands. I don t know if it s early stages of carpal tunnel or arthritis but it s affecting my daily performance, the muscles in my hand will seize up if I m overworking a bit. Also the veins in my arm hurt and every time I flex my fingers, write, or open a bottle. I can feel the pain in my arm from the muscles and veins. And I also have what seems like a rolling vein in the left arm which also has a mind of its own, every time I do a certain activity the vein rolls and sends what feels like a painful electric shock through my entire arm. Can you tell me what s happening and how I can treat it before it gets worse?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult a general surgeon and plan for an MRI scan.

Most probably it will be a simple muscular pain and will settle by itself.

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
