What Causes Pain In The Mouth?

Hello, This morning I woke with pain in my mouth. I looked and notice a strange shaped growth inside lower mouth, under tongue, but not on the tongue. It is pink in color, but shaped long and peculiar looking. I didn t have any pain yesterday, and do not know how long this growth has been here.

A small lump under the tongue that is appearing to be in the floor of mouth as per your explanation can be an inflamed salivary gland or can be a swollen lymph node..
So my suggestion to you is to consult an oral physician and get the lump examined..
A course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers can be advised to you.
Hopefully the lump will resolve within a week but in case if it does not resolve then an x ray will be advised to check for salivary stones and other relevant causes..
