What Causes Pain In The Lungs While On Azithromycin?

Hi, I was diagnosed with Pneuminia last Friday and began azithromycin ( the Z-pack) and took the last pill on Tuesday. I have been feeling better besides a cough. I tried a workout of 40 minutes on the elliptical machine. I felt OK until I stopped. Then my right lung began to hurt. I almost thought it was gas related. Now, 4 hours later, the lung still hurts when I cough or breath in deeply. Is this normal and does this mean I pushed too soon?

Hi,

Yes, most likely you pushed too soon. But it can also mean you have fluid in your lungs. Get a chest x-ray if its normal just give yourself some rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ankit
