What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen?

I am a 22 year old female and I have pain in my right ovary, it feels better when I apply pressure on my abdomen with my fingers. What could this be? I have been told I have less blood flow to my ovary than is desired but that it wasn t a cause for great concern. Any help would be great.

Hi,

Pain in that area might be due to the ovary but you will need an ultrasound to confirm this. The ultrasound will determine presence of any lumps or cysts in the ovary that might be cause of the pain.
Other causes can be considered if the ultrasound is normal. In this case you will need to have a gynecological visit and tests to rule out gynecological infection and a pap smear to check the cervix of the womb.
The bowel can be causing symptoms as well and having some extra fiber like movicol and drinking plenty might be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
