What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen And Testicles?

Male, 37 years old. I have pain in my lower left abdomen and also my testicles for the last month. The pain varies in intensity and comes and goes. Also, i have pain in lower back and buttocks area. My GP suggested an ultrasound as he suspected kidney stones. The ultrasound Doctor said there was no evidence of kidney stone, but there is a swelling in left kidney. Here are his findings: * Fullness in left kidney * Cortical scarring in left kidney * Bilateral ureteric jets noted * Gaseous Bowel loops noted * Advice X-ray KUB after good bowel preparation

Hi,

The symptoms are indeed highly suggestive of a renal calculi.
The swelling reported could actually be due to the calculi which was not visualized due to the swelling.
I would suggest taking up a X-ray, and if needed a CT scan of the abdomen focusing on the renal system. In view of the renal scarring, I would also suggest testing a renal function test and urine routine with albumin.

Hope I have answered your query.
