What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen And Back?

Hi, I began having pain in my lower abdomen, feeling crampy, radiating around to my lower back. I am also experiencing some indigestion and burping. I used an AZO urine test strip to see about a UTI. Came back negative for nitrites, but positive for leukocytes. I do not have any UTI symptoms though, no burning sensation while urinating. I am drinking a lot of water, so urinating a lot, and when I do urinate, enough urine is coming out, not like with a UTI where you feel you need to go, but a scant amount comes out.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The symptoms of indigestion and burping would be related to the gastrointestsinal tract and would not be related to any condition of the urinary tract such as infection.

Though pain in the lower abdomen can be related to the bladder, the crampy nature along with the radiation to the back makes it less likely to be the bladder or urinary tract.

Leucocytes can occur in other situations other than urinary tract infection unless they are present in very high quantities.

It is possible that your symptoms are more related to the gastrointestinal tract (Stomach and intestines) than the urinary tract.

You may want to consider the use of reflux medication even if you do not have the other typical symptoms. These medications sometimes help with indigestion and excess air.
Eg pepcid, zantac, nexium , prilosec, prevacid

You can choose one of these, should be over the counter.

I hope this helps
