Hello,

Well, having pain in the lower abdomen and back pain will be correlated to each other. Usually, it occurs due to gastric issues, Ranitidine is most of the times advised for such causes.

But, as the pain didn't come down with ranitidine in the past and also the physician mentioned drug Pepto Bismol did not work, I will advise that why don't you just go once for an abdominal scan.

Because usually, if its a heartburn due to gastritis than the pain will be in the upper abdomen and not the lower one.

As you mentioned the pain is in the lower abdomen having a scan of the abdomen will be of sense to see if any other abnormality is associated with it.

For back pain, you can take hot water fermentation. Cramping of the stomach will stop once the deep heat passes through the muscle.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
