What Causes Pain In The Lower Abdomen After Using A Tampon?

I m 43 years old. Just having a period after almost 4 months. Been using tampons since I was 15. No problems before. Today when I pushed the Tampon in it seems like it doesn t go as far as it was and there was a sharp pain when pushing it in. The pain is still kinda achy now. Lower abdominal area in the middle. Any ideas what could be going on?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Bacterial infection or endometriosis can give such symptoms. So it is better to have a pelvic examination by gynecologist to rule out this. A swab test and urine test should be done to rule out infection. Ultrasound examination should be done if needed. Avoid tampons and use pads if pain is persisting.

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
