Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 66 year old husband who is very active started complaining about knee pain after walking up and down a steep hill while working (He is an arborist). Showed all the sxs of patellar tendinitis...he didn t rest but seemed to improve with NSAIDS, ice, and a compression knee brace. Over the last week the pain is still there, he s not wearing his brace and just re-started icing. Now he says the entire side of his leg is painful, mostly when sitting or when laying in bed. I have an appt for him to see his PCP in 2 days. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Knee pain is very common nowadays and it is happening due to change in life style and eating habit. NSAID is the only way out there but it cannot be taken for a long time. Beside this Prednisolone can be tried but it has to be given, if patient is qualified for that and medical supervision is a must. Physiotherapy is another option, overall with proper care, pain can be well controlled.
Hope I have answered your query,
