What Causes Pain In The Leg And Stomach Cramps?

I m having s1/l5 nerve block next week, my pain through my leg has subsided somewhat, I was taking 60mg codeine 2 to 3 times a day along with 800mg ibuprofen each time. I have dropped the pills substantially but have almost chronic stomach cramps and pain along with diahorea and wind. Is this due to the codeine reduction or the S1 pain moving. MRI showed L3/4 herniated and tear. L5 substantial tear and pushing on S1. Regards

hi sir/mam,both of your disc problems can’t contribute to your present symptoms.coming to codeine, adverse gastrointestinal reactions are reported though rare.if the pain is not extreme, you can stop codeine and have acetaminophen.the following measures are recommended to treat diarrhoea:
1)the causative agent or irritant is to be avoided.
2)sporolac capsules or sachets are available to betaken twice daily in order to replenish the helpful and necessary bacteria in intestines.
3)tab.ornidazole ortinidazole in combination with ofloxacin twice daily for 3 days to eradicate any gut infection if present.
4)also ensure adequate hydration and oral rehydration solutions are to be used frequently until diarrhoea is under control.
4)tab.pantoprazole once daily before food is recommended.
hope I have clarified your doubts.other health issues if any, please let me know as I would be happy to help you.thank you.take care.bye.
