What Causes Pain In The Left Side Of The Vagina?

Hello my name is jyasmin I m a 26 year old female I have been experience pain on my left side down into the vagina I haven t really paid it no mind since I have a high tolerance to pain but last night I had such a horrible pain same place (lower left side in to the vaginal) it woke me out of my sleep I had a ultra sound done today and seen a bunch of white spots on my left ovarie and the ultrasound tech said my ovarie is way over 5 centimeters (width)I won t get to talk to my doctor about the results till next week so I was kinda wanting to know what them white spots are and possible causes of a big ovarie I should also add my appetite has decreased and it dosent take much to get full anymore I work out everyday and my last period was irregular I usally get cyst but I ve never experienced any pain like this before what are the white dots I seen on my ovarie??

Hi,

If it is of 5 cm size usual approach is to wait and watch. It means to have anther USG after 1 month and see if the size is increasing or not?

If it is more than 5 cm size then differential diagnosis must be ruled out. Two possibilities are there - Functional cyst which causes pain and bleeding which usually can be removed surgically.

While pathological cysts have malignant lesions. However, it is usually seen above 35 years of age. So in your case mostly cyst will be functional. Just wait for the gynaecologist appointment.
