What Causes Pain In The Left Foot Upon Walking?

I am having pain in my left foot, on the top, it hurts to walk. It started about a month ago when I was on my knees going through some stuff & my foot was bent & was on the floor. It feels like shooting pains after I have walked on it for a long time. The only only relief I get is taking ibuprofen.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Looks like a joint sprain. Hot fomentation and some physiotherapy might help. get an X ray if possible to rule out any bone related cause like osteoporosis or even a fracture.
