What Causes Pain In The Jaw While On Xarelto?

I have been taking xralto 20 mg. once a day since Aug 19th, 2016. I have been having occasional pain in my jaw or related to my teeth...I first thought it was related to a bridge which I have had for years.....I am questioning this, and as the pain seems to be in different areas of my jaw....Has this been a problem for persons taking this drug? I plan to see my Dentist this week.....Do I need to stop taking the xralto before he is able to work on my mouth? Thank you.

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain Xarelto contain active ingredient Rivaroxaban and is a blood thinning agent and it does not cause any direct effect on teeth or jaws that can cause jaw pain, rather in case jaw pain can be related to heart or other problems..

In case if you doubt any tooth related issue then you can consult a Dentist and get evaluated and get a full mouth x ray known as Orthopanomogram done to evaluate condition of teeth..
If dental problem is ruled out then treatment will be done as per cause..

In case if there is no dental problem then you will be evaluated for nerve related disorders and also an evaluation of cardiac activity will also be done to look for the exact cause of the symptoms and will be treated accordingly..

As of now take pain relievers like Acetaminophen to relieve pain..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
