What Causes Pain In The Hip Radiating To The Leg After A Fall?

Hi i fell in the bathroom about a week ago on my left side when i did my hip immdiately started hurting like at a 8 and i can walk but it hurts severly including moving my leg when laying sitting up and standing up and wearing heels in unbearable . And the pain is just getting worse and worse shortly after about half a week in right next to the center of my left hip facing the genital i can feel bone and its swollen and its not like that on the other side and it hurts so bad when i press on it. Can you give me a idea what this could be and rarely radiates down my thigh and majority of the pain is where the swollen hard bone mass is. Any idea what this could be? Also the pain is on the outer side of the hip .

Pain in hip after a fall could be caused by:
-Hip fracture
-Strain/sprain
-Muscle tear
I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination.A hip X ray will be needed to look for fracture.You may take a pain/antiinflammatory drug like aceclofenac, a myorelaxant like miorel and a local pain get like voltaren.Ice pack placement may also help to relief pains.I will suggest you rest well and avoid moving the leg for some time.From the result of the x ray, your Doctor will discuss other treatment options with you depending on findings and if need be, the opinion of an Orthopedist may be sorted.You also be hospitalized if pain severe for IV pain drugs.
