Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Pain In The Heels After Stopping CoQ10?
I was taking coq10 but when they ran out I did not purchase more. My problem now I am type2 diabetic and for the past 3 days have been having terrible pain in my heel of my right foot to the point that I can not even put any pressure/weight on it. I am wondering if this is because I have stopped taking coq10?
The pain is not related to stopping CoQ10, while it may have some modest benefits for our body as a supplement (benefits yet to be proven by studies), not taking it doesn't manifest any evident symptom, certainly not a pain in the heel.
There are many causes of heel pain like plantar fascitis, tendonitis, stress fractures, nerve compression etc, you should be checked to have your foot examined and be prescribed necessary tests/medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
