Hi, My dr has prescribed a low dose 50 mg Lyrica at night to try for a week to treat what she thinks may be fibromyalgia as I have for the past few months started getting needle stabbing pains that in my hands and now also have it happening in my face, back, legs and feet. It started right outside my eye today and my left hand feels like i sprained it. My hematologist was thinking more toward a pinched nerve, and thought neurontin would be a better choice, but said since it was bodywide to give it a try. Here is my very serious problem. I had a gastric bypass 9 years ago and I have been gaining weight the last 2 years. I went from 147-152 about (my smallest) to 172 about (I was 300). I do not care at all what I look like, but I CAN T gain any more weight. This 20 lbs feels like 100 and I am feeling sick because of it. People at work, friends, others, info I have read, all say I will most definitely gain weight. Might this low dose, along with my inability to absorb normally help with not gaining weight? Also, how does fibromyalgia get diagnosed? Is there a true test/tests? Does Lyrica work? Does homeopathic therapies work? What besides Fibromyalgia may this be from? Thank you,
