What Causes Pain In The Hand Where Plates And Screws Are?
I had a metal plate placed in my right arm in 1999 and it still hurts from time to time.Today its a pain that comes and goes in the section where I have the plate and screws.My arm is hurting now I feel a short twinge of pain every couple of minutes.What could be causing this pain?

Hello,Thanks for your query.After going through your query I came to know that you had a metal plate placed in your right arm in 1999 and it still hurts from time to time. Today its a pain that comes and goes in the section where you have the plate and screws. Your arm is hurting now you feel a short twinge of pain every couple of minutes. Pain is caused by some irritation of tissue by plate.It may settle by short course of analgesics (diclofenac sodium three times day after meals) . if pain is very problematic you can think of removing it by operation.
