What Causes Pain In The Groin Area Along With Frequent Urination?

A few weeks ago I was really constipated and had to strain some to go. However, after that I had pain in my groin and frequent urination. The urination has slowed to normal, but had pain between my legs with tingling near my butt and sometimes through my scrotum. That has become better and even went to urological doctor this past Friday, everything was okay. He said he thinks it was a bad strain which caused swelling in the muscles and nerves, but would heal fine with time. However, i keep getting a tingling feeling in my lower butt and anus. Sometimes feet. Any thoughts?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Tingling is most commonly related to abnormal function of the nerves, this is called neuropathy.

It can be temporary or permanent and there are different possible causes such as:(1) trauma to the nerves, this can occur in the back or anywhere along their path. This may be case for you, if this is so, then there should be improvement in 4 to 8 weeks.

(2)diabetes

(3)vitamin b12 or folate deficiency

(4)abnormal levels of vitamin b6

(5)side effect of medication

(6)liver or kidney disease

(7)rarely types of cancer

(8)exposure to toxins

(9)autoimmune conditions (body fighting itself)

If it continues then you would need to see your doctor for assessment. This would include history and physical examination along with investigations if needed.
Investigations may include blood tests and imaging (of the lower back).

I hope this helps
