Hi,

In my opinion, you should not neglect this and consult a doctor. A few investigations like routine blood tests, chest X-ray and pulmonary function tests can help find out what's wrong and reduce your anxiety. Most probably it will not be something serious but just impaired lung function secondary to smoking.

Best wishes.
